How app cab services are safe in India ???

Applications like Uber, OLA, Meru, etc are making our life easy in terms of travelling. But are they really providing safe service in India ?
There are lot of applications available nowdays, like OLA, Uber and meru etc. Through which we can book cab which will pick us from one point and drop to our destination. This kind of business started few years back and now it is boosting a lot.
Probably we can say they are safe because they are providing good service. Every cab has registered driver. Every cab ride is getting tracked. So you can feel safe.
As driver knows cab is getting tracked he would be more aware. And will provide good service. Apart from this we can rate this app and our rides, we can provide feedback which is one of the good point. So we know where and for what to go for, because we have reviews of previous customers.
Along with safety they are beneficial as doing transaction is easy, booking cab is easy. So previously it was very difficult to get a cab/taxi. But now we can book it very easily. Which can save our valuable time.
Though they are providing lot of safety things as we discussed till now but still we can noticed there are rape case and cases like harassment happening. Recently in previous month one girl in Delhi was raped in one of this cab. So is it really that safest as we are assuming ?
As every coin has two sides, we can not say they are safest but they are still much safer than going in any random taxi. Atleast we know few things about driver and can feel little bit more safer. And on the other hand apart from safety it is easy to book cab and doing transaction. So we can say they are safe.
