Jallikattu is the trending topic in recent days. Huge crowd from South India protesting the ban against it. So, do Supreme Court need to remove ban from it ?
Jallikattu is the ancient event mostly celebrated in South Indian states. It is traditional event in which one supposed to embrace the hump of bull as long as possible. Participants try to stop the bull and remove the flag from its horn. It was practiced from Tamil classic period (400-100 BC). And later it became the platform for bravery, prizes were introduced to encourage the participants.
Although it is traditional event Animal Welfare board of India called it act of cruelty against bull. Many times the bull became injured and sometime it died. Many times bull fractured its body parts. So because of this reasons Supreme Court come with ban on this event.
But people from South India are protesting the ban on Jallikattu because according to them it is symbolic of their pride. It witnessed lot of participants attempting to tame the bull by latching to their horn or hump.
